The National Executive Board has agreed to participate in an Appendix “T” pilot project regarding schedule structures in order to deal with the increase in the Amazon Depot Direct Induction volumes (DDI) above the present daily cap. The location of the pilot is in selected depots in the Greater Vancouver area, in Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge and North Burnaby.
The volume increase cannot affect the delivery commitment of non-Amazon products, must respect the health and safety of affected workers and, in accordance with Section 5.1 of Appendix “T”, the cost of the positions created for the pilot project must be covered by the additional revenue from the volume increase.
Although the pilot is taking place in the Greater Vancouver area, the majority of the preparation and consultation is taking place in Ottawa.
Work has already begun on the pilot. The National Executive Board has agreed that a technical advisor is needed to assist the Appendix “T” Working Committee on matters including, but not limited to:
